Former Buccaneers’ coach, John Gruden, is joining the MNF team. I like it. The Bucs fell apart at the end of last season like a girlfriend on medication with low self-esteem and Gruden and the GM deserved to get axed.

But I also think dude has some personality and will add some much needed humor, color and edge to the team. He’s going to replace Tony Kornheiser, who cited fear of flying for his reason to leave the team. I like Kornheiser and I think he’s great on PTI, but like fat girls and bikinis it just shouldn’t happen on MNF. First off Kornheiser always looked and sounded fem. There’s nothing wrong with that if you’re on American Idol, but this is football and it’s a man’s game. I always envisioned Mike Tirico and Ron Jaworski sipping some adult beverage from their cups and Kornheiser had Kool Aid in his cup.

Gruden will add some swagger and I’m looking forward to it. Now if we can  just get the NFL to start the games earlier, so fans in the EST can actually finish watching the game before Tuesday starts.

Oh and for the record ESPN should let the 3 Mikes takeover the MNF box. Mike Golic, Mike Greenberg and Mike Ditka were and are awesome when they had the chance to run the show.
