After the Saints, the Giants are currently the best team in the NFL and the Bucs are the worst. Yes, even the Detroit Lions would beat the Bucs if they had to play right now.

You might after think after the Giants big win over their bitter division rival, Cowboys, on Sunday they would be ready for a big let down. They’re not. It wouldn’t matter, because even the Giants B game is infinitely better than the Bucs’ A game. I know the Giants might not have defensive stud Justin Tuck for the game or staring wide receiver Domenik Hixon, it won’t matter. Osi Umenyiora will dominate on Sunday and the other Manning kid will distribute the ball and dice up the Bucs’ defense.
Here’s the bottom line: the Bucs are 31st worst defensive team in the NFL. After 2 weeks teams are averaging 450 yards per game and 7.5 yards per play. Defensive Backs Coach, Raheem Morris, ahhhh excuse me, Head Coach blamed it on poor tackling. Below are a few of his thoughts on tackling.
“worst tackling performance of this whole new regime.”
“Missed tackles are definitely the frustration issue, more than just getting beat physically”
“A missed tackle is a technique”
“It’s the stuff that has nothing to do with talent.”
HAHAAHAHAHA!!!! Wrong. I have good tackling technique, I couldn’t nor would I have any desire to tackle Brandon Jacobs on Sunday. The Bucs lack talent, period. Sabby can’t tackle anybody, because he’s busy chasing them from behind. It’s getting worse the Bucs secondary too. Tanard Jackson is still serving his suspension and safety experiment Jermaine Phillips is out for the season with a broken thumb. What a stroke of luck for that guy, because when this team goes down as one of the worst ever, dude can sit back and just say, “I only played in 2 games and if I was on the field I would have made a difference”.
Looking ahead to the 2010 draft… The Bucs will probably be able to land Oklahoma’s defensive tackle Gerald McCoy and hopefully trade up to get USC’s safety Taylor Mays. Talk about instant upgrade.
Below are my bold predictions for Sunday’s game:
1. The Giants will score over 40 points.
2. Byron Leftwich doesn’t take every snap at QB due to some physical aliment.
3. Bryon Leftwich turns the ball over at least 3 times.
4. Brandon Jacobs scores 2 rushing TD’s.
5. There will be more Giants fans at Raymond James Stadium than Bucs fans.
Not so bold predictions.
1. The Bucs don’t cover the 7 point spread. (2-0, so far against Bucs’ point spread)
2. The Bucs don’t rush the ball for over 100 total yards.
3. Sabby Piscitelli and the entire secondary get burned.
4. Steve Smith will be the most picked up fantasy player after week 3.
5. Gaines Adams won’t get a sack.
