Are The Buccaneers the Worst NFL Team?

I’m not surprised the Bucs got their asses handed to them on Sunday; the Eagles are a far superior team on both sides of the ball and did exactly what they were supposed to do. I didn’t have any playoff aspirations at the start of the season anyways, but now I’m starting to question if they will even get the 3 victories I predicted and even more importantly I’m wondering if the Bucs are indeed the worst team in the NFL?

Eagles vs. Bucs

Currently the Bucs, Chiefs, Rams and Titans all sit like catfish at the bottom of their division at 0 – 5. Out of this group the Titans are by far the most surprising. The Titans went from everyone’s prom queen to ugly Betty faster than a Porsche goes from 0 to 60. The expectations for the Chiefs weren’t much, but when you get to play the Raiders twice you’re sure to get at least one win. I think the Titans and Chiefs would easily beat the Bucs right now, but the match up to see who which team will earn the right to chose first in next year’s NFL draft: Rams vs Buccaneers.

I think it would be an awesome game of two evenly shitty teams. If the game was played tomorrow, it would put the Bucs’ 26th ranked and the Rams’ 28th ranked offense on the same field. The Bucs have scored a total of 68 points on the season and to their credit they have had to play the Giants and the Eagles defense, so it might look statistically better if they weren’t on their schedule. The Rams have scored an anemic 34 points over 5 games. I don’t have a good simile for that, it’s like horrible.

On the defensive side of the ball the Bucs sport the 28th ranked defense, which has gives up 28 points a game. The Rams are ranked 25th overall on defense and give up 29.2 points a game, but slightly less yards.

Carnell Williams and Derrick Ward would establish the run and Steven Jackson would do his respective part for the Rams. Marc Bulger and Donnie Avery would hook up and have a great day against the Bucs’ secondary, but Josh Johnson, Bryant, Winslow and Clayton would over power the Rams defense.

With the clock winding down and the Bucs up 17 to 14, the Glazers would panic. The Glazers would realize they would have the top pick in the draft and start thinking about the tremendous signing bonus that would come with it. Being the cheap ass owners they are, they would call down to Raheem Morris and demand the other Josh be thrown in at QB. Freeman would come in and call an audible, so he could throw the ball. He’d drop back and stare at his #1 option, Antonio Bryant, not look the safety off or recognize the zone coverage and get picked off by hardest name in football, Oshiomogho Atogwe, and he’d take it to the house.

Final Score: Rams 21 Bucs 17.

The Rams and the Bucs don’t play this season and in all seriousness the Bucs play the Panthers in week 6 and it will be one of their best chances for a win this season, because after that it’s off to New England to play the Patriots, followed by a bye week and then the Packers.
