It’s that time of the year where friends and family get together for good times and holiday fun. It’s also a time to sit back reflect and be thankful for how good you actually have it, because if you’re reading this blog you have a computer with internet access, you’ve got it better than a lot of people. It’s also a time to either bask in your team’s success or like a Buccaneers fan shake your head and wonder how long will it take for this team to get better? At the end of the day, even with a 1-9 record and not much hope of winning another game, the Buccaneer fans do have much to be thankful for, below are my top 10. (Feel free to comment and add one, if you think I left something off.)
10. The fact that Tampa even has an NFL franchise. I’d rather have a 1-9 team than no team at all like Los Angeles, Orlando, Portland, etc.
9. Bucs have plenty of room under the salary cap, so if we can get an ownership in here that really wants to win there’s hope.
8. Because Bucco Bruce and creamsicles resurfaced and it was cool.
7. Because the Bucs aren’t playing on Thanksgiving, so most of the nation won’t know how much they really suck.
6. The Bucs won’t go win-less like the Lions did last year.
5. Kellen Winslow is looking like he finally has his act together and he’s playing like a Pro Bowler.
4. Sammie Stroughter, Kyle Moore and Roy Miller are only rookies and all of them have serious potential to be good.
3. Josh Freeman really does have the tools to be a very good franchise QB and might just be worth last year’s #1 pick.
2. You could live in Cleveland and be a Browns fan and that team, franchise and QB situation is horrible.
1. The Bucs have a chance for the top pick in the 2010 NFL Draft and they will also have 2 good second picks as well. There are some great defensive players, which will allow the Bucs a chance to revamp their defense in one draft. Remember it’s about a boy named Suh.
Happy holidays and enjoy your bird!
